PRIVATE RESIDENCE DINING ROOM

CLIENT: Private home owner new construction in Elm Grove, Wisconsin

Application:Two impressionistic oil paintings on canvas

CLIENT REQUEST: The concave walls at opposite ends of the dining table were designed by the architect, at the home owners’ request, to receive painted murals reflecting the owners’ floral gardens.

FOCUS: Two oil paintings were created to cover the concave walls at each end of the dining table. I created the paintings on canvas in my studio and adhered them to the walls with a wall covering paste.

CHALLENGES: Painting each canvas in an impressionistic style was the most challenging aspect of this project. The application of color, texture and a softness to the imagery was important to get correct keeping this small dining room inviting and comfortable.
