CEILING MURAL - DINING ROOM

CLIENT: Private home owner, new construction.

APPLICATION: Graphite pencil, oil paint and gold leaf on canvas adhered to ceiling.

CLIENT REQUEST: The home owners suggested a mural theme representing their astrological signs.

FOCUS: I did my research from old world astrological charts. Discovering a blend of science and art, I created this canvas mural showing half the celestial sky from Taurus the bull to Sagittarius the archer complete with gold leaf stars.

CHALLENGES: Finding the best way to represent the home owners' request without being trite. I approached the design from a historical arts and science motif.
